Bigger and better than ever, the El Paso Zoo is an expansive green space that is home to exotic animals from around the world and features family attractions such as the African Star Train, the Hunt Family Splash Pad, Foster Tree House Playground, and the Hunt Endangered Species Carousel.

The El Paso Zoo is a member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). AZA envisions a world where all people respect, value, and conserve animals and nature. Look for the AZA logo whenever you visit a zoo or aquarium as your assurance that you are supporting a facility dedicated to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for yourself, and a better future for all living things. With more than 200 accredited members, AZA is a leader in global wildlife conservation.

Rendering showing new zoo constructionOn November 6, 2012, El Paso voters approved $470 million worth of improvements to parks, libraries, museums, downtown and the El Paso Zoo. On the ballot was Question 1: The issuance of $245,000 general obligation bonds for park, recreation, open space and zoo improvement … ” which received an overwhelming 75% response in favor of approving the Quality of Life Bond Issue. The El Paso Zoo was approved for $50 million to complete the Master Plan that is the framework for moving the Zoo forward in an exciting direction.
