Start Date: Jul 26, 2025
End Date: Jul 26, 2025
From: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Come and get rid of your ophidiophobia (fear of snakes) at the El Paso Zoo by helping us celebrate one of the most misunderstood animals during our “Reptilia: Celebration of Snakes” Event.
Schedule:
- Live snakes on display by collections in Kalahari
- Live snakes on display with three private collectors in Event Tent
- Live snake demonstrations in Discovery Classroom
- Wild Encounters at 10:30am in Wildlife Amphitheater with focus on snakes
Come share our passion for snakes and their value to the ecosystem and learn how you can protect them from unnecessary slaughter.
Snakes play an important role as apex predators, helping to keep rodents in check that positively impacting agriculture, while helping to lower the risk of diseases spread by rodents to people, such as hantavirus, leptospirosis, lymphocytic choriomeningitis, tularemia and salmonella. Come celebrate with us as we educate the public about these beautiful creatures and hopefully do away with some common misconceptions surrounding snakes.
