Zoo Adventure Behind the Scenes Tours

Have you ever wanted to know what happens behind the scenes at a zoo? We are now offering tours that allow you to explore the zoo like never before. You will get to see areas the general public does not get to see. Meet Zookeepers and learn about their jobs. See animals up close!

Available to groups such as schools, scouts, churches, or any other organized group.

Program Information

  • Available Wednesday – Friday (except for designated zoo event blackout dates and City holidays)
  • Time is 9:30 am and lasts approximately 1 hour
  • Reservations must be made 3 weeks in advance
  • Payment is due two weeks (10 working days) in advance prior to your scheduled program. No payment will result in program cancellation
  • $25 per person in addition to entrance fees
  • Minimum group size 15, Maximum group size 20
  • Participants Ages 6 and up (no exceptions)
  • Online Registration Required

Participants will get to visit one animal area, an additional behind-the-scenes area, and experience an up-close Ambassador animal encounter.

Additional Information for Confirmation

  • An Education staff member will meet your group at the front entrance.
  • If you expect to arrive more than five minutes late, please call the Education department at 915-2826. Please note that if you arrive late, you risk forfeiting your tour, and the length of the program cannot be extended
  • Still and/or video photography are not permitted behind the scenes.
  • No food or drinks (except water bottles) are allowed behind the scenes.
  • For safety, everyone in the group must be wearing closed-toed shoes.
  •  In the case of inclement weather and the zoo is closed, the E1 Paso Zoo will contact you to reschedule your program.
