More Zoo news! Our Zoo Society Gala "Tails of Africa" is coming up this Saturday, May 20th - from 6pm to 10pm. We'd love to see everyone out in their best leopard or zebra print African Casual attire.

This year’s theme is honoring the zoo’s upcoming African expansion. Two new Aquariums in the Sea Lion Building will be unveiled at the Gala. They will feature Butterfly fish, Hawk fish and eels.

A formal reception begins at 6 p.m. in the Americas Aviary, with a buffet & silent auction at 7:30 p.m. in the Asia section. The Buffet Dinner will be catered by the folks at The Grasslands Café, featuring gourmet African food. There’s entertainment by Franklin High School Jazz Combo and Taumbu - an African drums group. You can bid on a “Trip behind the scenes with the Elephants” or acquire some of the other goodies in our silent auction.

The El Paso Zoological Society has held a gala each year since 1995. We are going to have a great time - and hope to make lots of money for the zoo in our largest fundraiser for the entire year!

We’re honored to have Paul Foster - the president of Western Refining Company as this year’s gala chair!

Tickets are $100 ($1,000 table for 10) and you can purchase them by calling the El Paso Zoological Society at 915-532-8156.
