Join the El Paso Zoo Traveling Safari Fun Bunch
Every year Traveling Safari volunteers at the El Paso Zoo teach kids about animals and conservation by bringing small animals like chinchillas, possums and birds to local schools. The El Paso Zoo is looking for new volunteers to help present school programs. If you are looking for a fun and challenging opportunity that will help you get out of the house and into the community, the Traveling Safari Fun Bunch is looking for you.
Two weeks of training classes are planned for Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting February 27. Classes will be held in the Zoo from 9am to 3pm. Each day we will break for a 90-minute lunch and or siesta.
Learning about animals at our Zoo is really interesting and fun. And when you see the faces of all the school children you will get to spend time with, you will be able to go home at the end of the day and feel really good about the time you volunteered.
Once you have completed your training all the Zoo asks is that you contribute a minimum of 8 hours a month over the next year. Of course you can volunteer for a longer period and additional hours too. Many of our volunteers return year after year.
