In 2007 this burrowing owl nested in a drainage pipe at the San Elizario ISD Administration Building where most of it’s eggs washed away into the parking lot. The Zoo helped build a safer nesting area nearby where the owls will have a better chance at raising their chicks. Learn more about this program at the Zoo’s Party for the Planet on April 19.
