The El Paso Zoo Volunteer program offers a variety of opportunities to help in many areas of the zoo. If you have passion for our enviroment, conservation and animals, then the El Paso Zoo is the right place for you!

Volunteer benefits include discounts on memberships, gift shop and restaurant, but mostly the satisfaction of sharing your valuable time, gaining experience, and of course meet new people and make friends.

Our volunteers at the El Paso Zoo have contributed their time, knowledge and vigor to many different areas such as:

  • Enhancing the experience of Zoo visitors by greeting our guests, answering questions, giving directions and interacting with the public.
  • Assisting with educational programs
  • Animal behavior observation
  • Marketing and Public Relations
  • Special Events
  • Zoo Keeper Aid

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Volunteer must be at least 18 years old
  • Maintain a customer friendly attitude and outgoing
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Genuinely interested in and care about people, animals, nature and conservation
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Provide a negative TB test and Tetanus shot record (at your own expense)
  • Ability to volunteer at least 100 hours per year, approximately 8 hours per month
  • We require at least one letter of recommendation
  • Embrace excellent standards of customer service

SPECIAL EVENT VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Don't have enough time to volunteer once a week? Special Events allow you to volunteer at various times throughout the year. We can always use the help of volunteers at our events.
