A LOOK INTO OUR EL PASO ZOO’S FUTURE:
The “Passport to Africa” exhibit will help the Zoo meet its mission of reconnecting people to their natural world and represent a major quality of life asset to the city of El Paso by doubling the zoo in size to 36 acres, featuring African animals, plus two educational facilities, a new entry plaza (opening spring of 2008), a train, a zoo gift shop, and a new restaurant that can cater large events. A Reptile House in the shape of a turtle will be completed in the fall of 2008. The African animal exhibits will open in 2009 with animals, including lions, zebras, giraffes and Meerkats.
