Eygptian Goose
The Egyptians considered these geese to be sacred animals.

Egyptian GooseArtwork created during the time of the Pharaohs and Ancient Egypt often depicts Egyptian geese, a bird that the Egyptians considered to be sacred. Known as "the Great Cackler", Egyptian families would allow these sometimes aggressive geese to live in their homes and gardens.

Egyptian geese range across most of Africa south of the Sahara Desert and are usually seen grazing in pairs. Like other species of geese they feed on grasses, seeds and insects.
